Atremaru Jungle Retreat

Secluded from everything. The place was absolutely beautiful. Good massage and lovely staff. Only had hassle I had was airport pick up took an hour to find my driver and if you have sensitive skin not the best for insects.

It was a magical place to stay, the staff couldn't do enough, for example when we arrived there was a brief deluge of rain, we were met with umbrellas and such a warm welcome as our luggage was carried for us to our room. The accommodation is like any other 'jungle stays' on the island in that it was a large solid walled room/suite with more than enough space for our party of 4. The pool although chilly was a wonderful bonus especially after the trek back from the beach. The butterflies are incredible as were the plants growing in the jungle. Around us. Great cocktails from Mario too!

We had an enjoyable 2 nights staying at Atremaru. The staff are lovely and the jungle setting is stunning (if a little closer to the road than I'd imagined). The design of all the buildings dotted through the jungle is beautiful and the facilities are great. Pre-check in communications were great and we felt very welcome. We enjoyed the billiards table, the bar and the pool (the Pina colada cocktail is delicious!). The restaurant was good - chicken curry was our favourite dish. The only thing lacking at Atremaru is a bit of comfort...the pool area has the potential to be fantastic but the sun beds and chairs aren't very comfortable - they could just do with adding some cushions to what are otherwise hard and rough sun loungers. We had the King Suite which has a stunning view. There was plenty of room for us as a family of 4 and the beds were really comfortable. We had an issue with the water running out on our first night so we were unable to flush the toilet until the front desk opened in the morning - it would be good to ensure the water tank is full before guests arrive. With a few improvements, this could be an outstanding place but even so, we had a lovely time and I think this represents good value for money.

We stayed one night to be close to Subterranean Park. The resort itself is beautiful. Exactly what you would expect for a jungle retreat. The room was large and the bed was so comfortable. We used the fans as there is no aircon and slept very well. The food for dinner was delicious with lots of Philippina and western options. The curry was so good as was the lumpia. Staff were lovely and went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. They provided secure parking and lots of smiles 😊. I wish we were staying a bit longer! It is remote, but this is very clear when booking.
